What's in a Year
I thought I would look at what each year represents and see what kind of gifts could be bought to correspond with the year. The first anniversary is always a very special one and you will want to celebrate with something special.
Flowers and a nice bottle of champagne always go down well as do chocolates .
Traditionally though the first anniversary is “paper” and what better gift than to buy a newspaper of your wedding day, or get a anniversary folder so you can remember them for years to come.
The second one is “cotton” and well what wife doesn’t like to receive a cotton top or buy a cotton shirt for their beloved.
Now the third is “leather” and I can see those leather shoes and matching handbag now or a lovely leather belt.
The fourth is “fruit”, ok we can have a nice bowl of fruit or we can get fruity with lovely gifts from Ann Summers.
Fifth is “wood”, well there is always a piece of furniture but what about a tree to plant to watch grow through the years of your marriage.
The tenth anniversary is tin, well girls I have racked my brains for you here. I’m thinking holiday . Why not visit Cornwall and go to the tin mines.
Now we are getting to the good ones, the fifteenth is crystal .There are so many pieces to choose from.
Twentieth is China, what about a lovely new china tea service .
